My Engine Won't Start.

If your engine won't start, it could be due to a stuck low oil sensor, low or no oil.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
  • To reduce the risk of injury, user must read and understand the operator’s manual before using this product.
  • DO NOT make any adjustments to the product without first stopping the engine and disconnecting the spark plug wire.
  • Burns from hot parts — let the engine cool completely before touching hot parts.
  • Injury from moving parts
  • To reduce the possibility of fire or explosion, be careful when working around gasoline. Keep cigarettes, sparks and flames away from all fuel‐related parts.

(Non-Inverter Generators)

  1. Verify that the correct amount of oil is in the engine. Yukato engines come equipped with a low oil sensor that prevents the engine from running when too little oil is in the crankcase. The sensor may stick on engines that have not been run since the initial quality assurance testing (oil is added at the end of the manufacturing process in order to test each unit before it is packed and shipped.).
  2. Locate the yellow wire on the crankcase. Follow this wire until you locate the green quick connect. Grasp the two ends firmly and separate the two wires at the connector.
  3. Start the engine and allow it to run for 15 minutes before reconnecting the sensor.

If this not does remedy the issue, here are a couple of other troubleshooting steps you can take to follow:

A very quick test that will tell us if we are dealing with a fuel flow issue or an ignition issue can be done using a little starting fluid. If you remove the air filter cover and the air filter element, set the carburetor to RUN and spray the starting fluid directly into the engine. Now pull the rope. If the machine comes to life momentarily then dies, the carburetor may be obstructed. If it does not, then perhaps we have a no spark issue.

No Spark

  1. Verify that the correct amount of oil is in the engine.

  3. The sensor may stick on engines that have not been run for long periods of time.
  4. Locate the yellow wire on the crankcase.
  5. Follow this wire until you locate the green quick connect.
  6. Grasp the two ends firmly and separate the two wires at the connector.
  7. Start the engine and allow it to run for 15 minutes before reconnecting the sensor.

If you still have no spark, follow the yellow wire you from the point you disconnected it over to small silver cube that it comes out of. There is a black wire coming from the cube that also has a quick connector. Disconnect the wire at this point and check for spark again. If you have spark now, you need to replace the silver cube which is a ground diode designed to create a ground that the ON/OFF switch and Oil Sensor use to kill the spark. If not, then you may need a new ignition coil.
